PART 41

The club was sieged in a pandemonium.Everyone ran amok,trying to save their lives as reckless firing broke the stillness of the night.

S.T.F. officers ruthlessly fired at the goons while they reciprocated with equal  vigour.

The girl,stranded in the middle of the onslaught,tried to hide behind the upturned furniture,mindless with fear.She was shaking in every limb and praying to get out alive in one piece.

Even though,khushi was busy in on going confrontation,she kept an eye on the teenager.Suddenly she saw one of the goons,holding his gun aloft and aiming at the girl.

Khushi looked horrified for a split second before she found herself flying across the place to the girl and hurling her down to safety almost reflexively.

Precisely at the same moment,she felt pain shoot through her right shoulder and moments later her body convulsed again and buckled up in agony as something seared her collarbone,the intensity of which made her scream in pain.

Khushi felt something warm and sticky trickle down her abdomen and sodding her shirt.With effort she raised her hand and touched her shoulder.

She saw something sickly crimson through the haze that fogged her mind.The pain was building and it felt her entire torso was afire,though along with it was a strange numbness.

Khushi heard several voices screaming as if through a tunnel,distant and echoing and she strained to shut her mind against them.

She dragged her eyelids open and saw ASR's frantic face leaning over her's,shaking her crazily and shouting,but his voice and face swam in and out.

The room revolved and that was the last thing khushi saw as everything blackened and she felt nothing!

''Khushi open your eyes damn it!Look at me!''ASR yelled,shaking her madly.

''Khushi,please,please,please don't get unconscious.Please wake up!''He screamed,out of his senses.

ASR had seen the entire drama unfold before his eyes in a slow motion and he hadn't been able to do anything.He had been keeping an eye on khushi,trying to remain close to her...to protect her,still he had watched helplessly as her body twitched when bullets entered her body.

He felt as if the world had stopped and fear like he had never known gripped him,crushing his insides.

In a fit of rage he riddled the body of the man who had shot khushi,with bullets, turning him into a wrecked,bloody pulp.

Oblivious to the ongoing bedlam he reached khushi,begging her to open her eyes, but she simply wouldn't comply.

ASR once again was transported down the time,in his past and he saw the bloodied and mutilated corpse of his mother,sprawled on the floor.He had lost her!Now,khushi was in similar situation,but he couldn't afford to lose her.

The epiphany hit him with the force of a bull-dozer.He couldn't let khushi leave him,let her die.He couldn't live without his heart,his soul,his very being.

The truth that ASR had been tenaciously trying to evade since the second he laid his eyes on khushi,stared at his face and he accepted and embraced it with his heart and mind.

He was in love with khushi and she was lying in front of him,bleeding and injured.

ASR lifted khushi gently in his arms with conviction and rushed out in the dark corridor. 

He won't let his khushi die!
